Monica Munin, Esq.

As an Attorney at Silverpine Law, Ms. Munin represents individuals and businesses in employment-related disputes concerning unpaid wages, prohibited competition, discrimination, harassment, wrongful termination, and breach of employment agreements. She also counsels clients regarding employee policies, handbooks, terminations, severance agreements, and independent contractor arrangements.

Beyond the employment-law context, Ms. Munin handles a wide variety of general tort and contract matters. These include defamation claims, ownership struggles between small business partners, and disputes concerning commercial insurance coverage. Notably, she possesses significant experience in education-related litigation, including representing local education agencies (LEAs) and state education agencies (SEAs) in disputes arising under the Individuals With Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).

Prior to joining Silverpine Law, Ms. Munin was a litigator at mid-sized law firms in Virginia and was a senior litigation associate at the DC office of Husch Blackwell LLP, a top-ranking “Am Law 100” large law firm. At these firms, she represented companies and individuals in a wide variety of employment and labor disputes in state and federal courts. Her experience includes both jury trials and “bench” trials.

Ms. Munin earned her law degree at the top-tier George Mason University School of Law in Arlington, Virginia. She earned her bachelor’s degree from the George Washington University in DC. She is a licensed member of the bar in DC and Virginia, and is fluent in the Spanish language.
